Graffitis, signs and their meanings / Pintadas, carteles y sus significados

When I'm walking along the streets I love paying atention to everything, taking things out of context, discovering mistakes or reading funny messages written by someone that is obviously smarter than me. Let me explain myself with some examples:

Cuando voy andando por la calle, me gusta prestar atención a todo, sacar cosas fuera de contexto,  descubrir fallos o leer mensajes graciosos escritos por gente que obviamente es más lista que yo. Me explico:

Vauxhall VXR8

Watch these videos (I and II) and you will realise how great and funny this car is. Please do not compare women and men driving styles or Fifth Gear with Top Gear, because it would be as useless as comparing a hot brunette girl to a hot blonde girl -they are both hot...-. Just watch the videos and tell me if you wouldn't buy one of these RIGHT NOW.

I would -if I could afford it, of course-.

See you.

This is how we do it in Belfast

One -rainy, I suppose- day of 1909, a shipbuilding company called Harland&Wolff recieved some great news: they had been chosen to built three big cruise ships -the Olympic, the Brittanic and the Titanic-. It was a big company, so they hadn't any problem on carrying out the construction of the three biggest cruise ships of those days.

I have to say that H&W drydocks are in Belfast, Northern Ireland. And why do I say that? After the jump...

Cavehill part II (and last)

One week after our arrival here in Spain, some images are starting to vanish of my mind like mist makes Cavehill fade away... But all the good memories and experiences will remain forever. I know, I know.

First -and only- photo of downhill in Cavehill

What a photo-shit. Not because of the rider, just the photobrapher.

Today I went to Cavehill -10:00 to 13:00- trying to find the 20 guys I was told would be riding there, but the only thing I got was a natural shower. I thought irish/english riders were tough boys, but it seems to be a lie. Come on, guys, 4 drops and you don't ride? I give up.

See you.

Bangor

Last Saturday I have been to Bangor with some friends, and it took me only five minutes to realise that this little village is the place where all belfastians -or belfasters, or belfastish people, I don't know and I don't care- are when we go for a walk around Belfast and the streets seem like during the football World Cup Final. It was literally crowded.

Cavehill

Cavehill rocks. It's irrefutable. The most famous balcony of Belfast is one of the best natural places I've ever been -along with Sil Canyon and Ortegal Cape cliffs- and by now it's the main reason I like Belfast much more than the last week.

You are now entering Belfast City

Hi folks, it's me again. As you can see, since now till -at least- 18th August I'm going to write in  the language of Shakespeare with a little bit of northern irish accent.

Yesterday I took mi big backpack with my camera and I went out for a walk with some friends, trying to discover some places in Belfast, -probably the ugliest city in the world, I was told-. As you can see in this empty-of-quality random photos, Belfast has the same things as any other city in the world: buses, cars, grass with lazy people on it, modern buildings, old buildings, orange fanta, religious centres with weird giant metallic needles on the roof and weird tourists inside, and all kind of grafittis painted on some houses' walls.

But there are two differences that make Belfast special: The language of his inhabitants -sometimes it sounds like english, but they like to pay with points instead pounds, and they prefer to put the groceries in bikes rhater than in bags- and THE WEATHER. Come on, how can you people live with that? Yesterday we had the first full-sunny day, and when I say full-sunny I mean we only had rain two times today, 20 min each. Believe me, it's annoying. Too much.

No more talking, fellas, let's take a look at the photos and tell me if you agree with me at any point:

See you.
