Audi, tú antes molabas...

I don't understand Audi anymore: shouldn't mean the S on some of their models something more than the same body with different wheels on? Not much time ago, if you saw an Audi S3, S4 or S6 you could recognize them at first sight -much wider, much lower, looking sporty and exclusive...-. Not to mention the RS's, kind a brutalised S-whatever. They rocked.

No entiendo a Audi: ¿no debería significar la S en algunos de sus modelos algo más que la misma carrocería con diferentes ruedas? No hace mucho tiempo, si veías un Audi S3, S4 o S6 lo podías reconocer al primer vistazo -mucho más ancho, mucho más bajo, con pinta de deportivo y exclusivo, etc.-. Por no mencionar a los RS, una especie de S-loquesea brutalizados. Molaban.

But now, the S line -don't mix up with the stupid S-line, created to satisfice all those snobs Audi owners who can't afford a real S but want to look like they have one- has become a normal car with big wheels on -optional on the S-line pack, of course- and hundreds and hundreds of HPs. Nothing more. Like the S8 in the top picture. And then, if they are not special anymore, why do they keep calling S-whatever to an A-whatever with a different front grid, aluminium exteriror mirrors, bigger wheels and a ridiculous spoiler? I don't understand, but I'm sure that a snob I was talking about before could explain me the point...

Pero ahora, la línea S -no confundir con la estúpida S-line, creada para contentar a todos esos snobs propietarios de un Audi que no pueden permitirse un S de verdad pero quieren que parezca que tienen uno-  ha pasado a ser un modelo normal con ruedas grandes -opcionales en el paquete S-line, cómo no- y cienes y cienes de CVs. Nada más. Como el S8 de la foto de cabecera. Y entonces, si ya no son especiales, ¿por qué le siguen llamando S-loquesea a un A-loquesea con distinta rejilla delantera, retrovisores de aluminio, ruedas más grandes y un spoiler ridículo? Yo no lo entiendo, pero seguro que un snob de los que hablaba antes me lo puede explicar...

I liked the old Audi: the one who made the S2 -and the RS2 working hand by hand with Porsche-, the one who made the first A4 and RS4, the one who made THIS... The new Audi means annoying football players playing God, corrupt politicians, new money people with no personality at all... I'm sorry, but that's not my style.

A mí me gustaba la vieja Audi: la que hizo el S2 -y el RS2, trabajando mano a mano con Porsche-, la que hizo el primer A4 y RS4, la que hizo ESTO... La nueva Audi significa futbolistas repelentes pensando que son dioses, políticos corruptos, nuevos ricos sin personalidad ninguna... Me vais a perdonar, pero ese no es mi estilo.

As I said at the beginning... Audi, you rocked.
